A Name Inspired by History

The Beacon takes its name from a remarkable piece of Nantasket history. In 1673, a beacon was erected here to help guide mariners—recognized in historical accounts as the first recorded colonial American aid to navigation. More than 350 years later, The Beacon Waterfront Inn proudly carries that maritime legacy in its name.
